I have always been a big fan of Lush products for two main reasons:
- the fact that their products and ingredients are cruelty free and NOT tested on animals
- because they always add an element of fun to your beauty regime, whether it be through the bright, natural colours, the glitter and sparkle or the gorgeous flavours they use
But as well as this, I just love the atmosphere in Lush stores! The staff are always so friendly and enthusiastic about the products and that, to me, is one of many signs of a good company.
So I was lucky enough to receive a bar of Lush's The Comforter (Lush Cosmetics, £4.50) yesterday and I literally could not wait to try it out!

As the photo shows, this bar is a combination of the most gorgeous shades of pinks with a hint of white to break it up and it smells absolutely divine! And rightly so, as one of the key ingredients is blackcurrant which is combined with other natural ingredients to create the vibrant berry scent this bar gives off - you can smell it from the other room it's that good!
The instructions indicate that the bar should be crumbled under a running hot tap for maximum bubbles, however there are no guidelines on how much to use per bath. I personally found that although even a small amount of the bar was able to turn the bath water a brilliant pink colour, I had to use half of it to achieve the desired level of bubbles which is a slight downside considering the bar costs £4.50 and half a bar gets you one bath.
Despite that, however, the ingredients in the bar really come into their own once you get into the bath as they are highly moisturising and if you've been soaking in the water for as little as 30 minutes, you're left with skin that feels silky and smooth without leaving behind any sticky or greasy residues. Even if you rinse off after being in the bath with this product, the moisturising effects are not lost. And to top it all off, the scent lingers on your skin so you're left smelling of berries for hours after your bath!
All in all, this product definitely deserves the 4.8/5 user rating it has achieved and aside from the fact that the bubble to bar ratio is not that great, I'm definitely pleased with this and would most likely buy it again.
