Giveaway Haul - Beauties Unlocked

Hey guys :)

This is a SUPER late post but I was extremely lucky enough to have won a giveaway hosted by Beauties Unlocked a few months back and have been meaning to post a quick review on the prizes I received ever since they came through the post but am only managing to do it now!

The prizes I received were (L - R) :
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Shadow Pencil in the shade Juju
  • Benefit Lipstick in the shade Guilt Free
  • Mac Lipglass Lipgloss in the shade A Different Groove
  • Mac Eyeshadow Trio in the shade Fresh and Easy

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Shadow Pencil
As you can probably see from the photo, I have used this a fair few times already! It literally does 'glide on' and it's such a silky, smooth, creamy texture that it feels like you're barely wearing anything on your eyelids which is brilliant for days where you don't want to look mega heavily made up.
The colour itself is like a pale, champagne and isn't too pigmented so it would work well with almost all skin tones in my opinion. (That's great for me because I'm brown! :p)

I personally use it in place of an eyeshadow primer because I feel it works just as well and lasts all day and the colour itself lends itself really well to use with any of the Naked palettes which is an added bonus!

Benefit Lipstick
This lipstick (left hand swatch) is a gorgeous, deep burgundy / plum colour with a smidge of shimmer in it and is the perfect winter shade. It has a really nice, creamy texture which makes it really easy to apply and it lasts for a good few hours without needing reapplication, especially when coupled with a good lipliner.

Mac Lipgloss
This (right hand swatch) is a slightly darker version, almost, of the Benefit Lipstick with a hint more shimmer in it which means the two go hand in hand!
The only downside I found with this is that the formula is a little on the sticky side for my liking and the shade is quite dark so may not be everyone's cup of tea! That said, however, it is super glossy and quite strongly pigmented so it not only leaves lips with a mirror-like finish, but also leaves lips beautifully stained when applied on its own. And to top it all off, the tube itself has a super pretty bird / flower print all over it!

Mac Eyeshadow Trio
Please excuse the blurry photo, it was unfortunately the best I could get!

This trio of eyeshadows is probably one of my absolute favourites simply because the it's so easy to use it for both day and evening looks i.e the light pink swept over the lid and the slightly darkish pink  brushed into the crease and outer corner make up a really pretty, simple day look, but layer up the colours for a darker look and add the blue to the inner corners and combine with liquid eyeliner and a dash more mascara and you've got a seamless evening look, all from one little trio.

The colours go on quite lightly however they do lend well to layering without becoming too 'cakey' or appearing too heavy. The formula of the shadows is almost creamy in the sense that it goes on the brush like a power but sits on the eyelid like a cream shadow so no matter how much you layer it for a darker look, it doesn't feel heavy on your eyelids.

The colours complement each other really well and give a sort of 'candy' impression which I personally think is super cute and the actual trio itself is smaller than my palm so its really easy to just pop in your bag and take with you.

Of all the prizes I received, I have to say the Urban Decay pencil is my favourite, simply because I use it almost every single time I do my make up!

A HUGE HUGE thank you to Carrieanne Drew at Beauties Unlocked for sending me these prizes, I'm extremely grateful and also really sorry it's taken me so long to review them!!
